LANGLEY — A gold-medal finish at its own invitational tournament keeps Victoria’s two-time B.C. champion Belmont Bulldogs atop the provincial Top 10 AAAA world according to the Top 10 polls released Thursday by the ranking committee of B.C. Girls High School Volleyball Association.
Lake Country’s George Elliot Coyotes took a five-spot spike up the AA ranks this week after finishing first at its own invitational, among a field that included second-place Kelowna, third-place Penticton and fourth-place Okanagan Mission.
Vancouver’s York House defeated rival Crofton House to win the Independent Schools championship.
Before we get to all all four tiers of the B.C. Top 10s this week, don’t forget that the 19th annual Coquitlam RCMP Red Serge Classic senior girls volleyball tournament takes place Friday and Saturday at PoCo’s Riverside Secondary.
The star-studded field includes five of the top six Quad A teams in B.C. No. 1 Belmont, No. 3 Kelowna, No. 4 Handsworth, No. 5 Earl Marriott, and No. 6 Moscrop will all take part.
Competition begins at 12:45 on Friday with a centre-court match between Belmont and the host Rapids. The championship final is set for 5:45 p.m. on Saturday.
We’ve also included finishes from last week’s top invitational tournament.
