LANGLEY — Katie Devaney was convinced that she knew how to dream big. So five years ago, the senior volleyball star at Port Coquitlam’s Terry Fox Secondary School set in her mind, an ambitious goal to be a starter by the midway mark of her impending university career with Langley’s powerhouse Trinity Western Spartans.

PORT COQUITLAM — A funny thing happened to Port Coquitlam’s Terry Fox Ravens en route to being the only non-ranked, non-honourable mention team among the entire 16-school field which took part in the Tsumura Basketball Invitational about four weeks ago at the Langley Events Centre: They advanced all the way to event’s Final Four.

LANGLEY — When last we left Surrey’s Holy Cross Crusaders and the Oak Bay Bays of Victoria, we were right here at the Langley Events Centre. It was mid-March and the Crusaders were topping the Bays for third-place at the Telus B.C. AAAA championship tournament.
