LANGLEY — For the first time, the B.C. high school AAA and AA seasons did not end on the same weekend.
So while AA plays a handful of games this upcoming weekend to complete its Coastal Conference slate, the AAA ranks will open with its traditional Subway Bowl Wildcard Weekend draw.
Keep in mind we are presenting this week’s Friday and Saturday draw in our usual bracket form.
East champ Terry Fox and West champ Vancouver College earned the right to byes, and to spots on opposing sides of the draw, this upcoming weekend and will plug in over the following one when Subway Bowl resumes with the quarterfinal round.
There is, as well, one AA playoff game on tap (Saturday, 1 p.m., Greater Vernon Athletic Park) as the Interior champ Vernon Panthers play host to North No. 2 Prince George, after the Polars fell 35-12 to the Duchess Park Condors in this past Friday’s Prince George Bowl.
Here is this weekend’s AAA Subway Bowl Wildcard Round bracket with dates, times and venues. Note that as G.W. Graham faces crosstown rival Sardis on the regular home field for both teams at Exhibition Stadium, that the Grizzlies are the home team.
