02.12.25 edition: Kelowna tops Oak Bay, St. George’s edges Van College as B.C. Quad-A Top 10 boys emerge from shape-shifting week with eight spots swapping hands!

LANGLEY — About face.

Maybe everything we thought we knew about the stretch-drive finish in B.C. senior boys Quad-A basketball was a myth?

Not quite.

But in one of the most active, topsy-turvy weeks in recent memory, the province’s largest-school tier switched up eight of its top 10 spots from seven days ago.

The Kelowna Owls have been taking a lot of shots to the chin, yet let a well-coached team see the province’s upper-crust elite enough times, and perhaps a change had to come.

The Owls jumped from No. 3 to No. 5 after topping former No. 2 Oak Bay 82-70 in the semifinals of its own Western Canada invitation on Friday, then narrowed its gap on the defending champs, falling 78-64 to Spectrum in the championship final.

Meanwhile, St. George’s moved from No. 10 to No. 6 following its 95-92 win last Saturday over Vancouver College.
