TOWNSHIP OF LANGLEY — Hello to our community of senior girls and boys high school basketball coaches around the province of B.C.

Howard Tsumura here today with a message to everyone wondering about the dates for the 2026 Tsumura Basketball Invitational which has traditionally been played over the first two weeks of December.

Due to unforseen scheduling difficulties, we are as of today, unable to finalize the dates for each of our two tournaments which annual place a grand total of 64 teams on the floor at the Langley Events Centre.

Our hope is that with a little more patience, we will be able to get an answer to you soon And of course, the second we hear, so will you and our loyal legions of fans and readers.

Your founder’s hope? That the dates remain constant, meaning Dec. 2-5 for the boys tournaments, and Dec. 9-12 for the girls tournaments.

While we have not traditionally sent out our invitations until after the B.C. championships, which begin a week tomorrow and continue until March 7, the dates have traditionally been known at this time.

I have so often praised the incredible spirit of cooperation and togetherness within the B.C. high school basketball world and it’s something I hope allows us all to ensure another great season of high school invitationals throughout the province.

Thank you for reading, and I hope we can have an answer for you all as soon as possible.
