LANGLEY — We’ve grown to 20 teams this season.
The 2019 Tsumura Basketball Invitational will run Dec. 4-7 at the Langley Events Centre.
Day 1 featured a new, eight-team opening round with the winners plugging into Day 2’s 16-team draw.
Final Four Friday will be followed by championship Saturday as the best boys Quad-A and Triple-A teams take part.
Note an additional, unique twist to the draw: While placing games will be contested for spots 1-12, the remaining eight teams will all have great matchups as we will re-seed those final eight teams for what we hope will be four unique matchups.
The girls draw for the Dec. 11-14 event will follow over the next few days.
Here’s the complete boys tournament draw (You may want to increase type size to better study each portion of the draw. I would recommend five-plus key strokes. We wanted you to see it in its entirety here):
Claremont will give B South a game – trust me – they might not win but they will be top 5 in your rankings at some point…and I’m a Belmont parent!….from what I saw at the Kodiak Burnaby South should be playing CIAU, it’s not fair…Claremont will give any of the teams I saw this past weekend trouble, they really have no weakness…Centennial, Kelowna, Handsworth, Holy Cross all impressive, can’t wait for your tourney, looking forward to seeing the teams I haven’t yet.
