LANGLEY —The first potential showdown between the top two teams in the most recent B.C. senior girls high school Top 10 Quad-A rankings.
(See full Top 10s for all four tiers below)
A tournament weekend beginning its four-day run Wednesday with 23 of its 32 total teams occupying Top 10 spots between the province’s four tiers of competition.
And a showcase Super 16 bracket in which nine of its participants sit in the Top 10 of the Quad-A rankings.
Welcome to the 2024 edition of the Tsumura Basketball Invitational at the Langley Events Centre.
Our off-season efforts to painstakingly project two separate blue-chip pools of 16 teams (Super 16 and Select 16) seem to be walking in lockstep with the latest set of rankings.
To follow all the action, the LEC is the place to be.
If you can’t make it, you can take advantage of the free livestream at TFSETV.ca
Myself and the Langley Event Centre’s amazing Gary Ahuja will do our best to provide as much coverage as is possible for two old men with big hearts on Wednesday’s Day 1, given the rapid-fire nature of a simultaneous 16-game day.
I will team with sophomore Varsity Letters reporter Nic Hauka on Day 2 to provide Elite 8 scribblings, and then provide solo reportage on this site from Friday Final Four and Championship Saturday rounds.
We also welcome back Trinity Western Spartans women’s head coach Cheryl Jean-Paul who is set to join me as analyst for my call of Friday’s two Super 16 semifinals (6:15, 7:45 p.m.) and Saturday’s Select (3 p.m.) and Super 16 )4:45 p.m.) championship finals.
Hauka and newcomer Keanen Tregaskis will team up to broadcast a number of Friday’s games on the consolation side of the draw.

Hope to see you later this week at the LEC for the best of B.C. girls high school basketball!
