LANGLEY — Start the countdown to the 2023 edition of the Tsumura Basketball Invitational senior boys basketball tournament Dec. 6-9 at the Langley Events Centre.
After months of planning, we’re thrilled to unveil the two brackets of 16 which will comprise the 32 teams taking part in this year’s festivities.
Competing in both the Super 16 and Select 16 brackets are the majority of the top-ranked teams from across B.C.
As an added bonus, we’ve also invited two out-of-province teams to take part in the festivities: Santa Margarita Catholic of Rancho Santa Margarita (CA), as well as St. Mary’s of Calgary.
A trend we have been proud to anchor here at the TBI over the past number of seasons, that of issuing invitations to quality programs regardless of tier, continues in earnest this December. And in looking at both draws, it is very evident that the lines which divide student population-based schools by those tier has never been more blurred.
Each team will play one game per day over the four days of the TBI. Complete brackets, encompassing Day 2 through Day 4 game times, will be released upon its finalization.
Tough round-one match-ups abound as part of two seperate draws in which we have kept league rivals apart throughout the first round.
We’ll have more on TBI’s top teams and players as we draw nearer to tip-off, but for today, we hope the release of our two boys draws gets you even more in the spirit to celebrate another exciting season of B.C. boys high school basketball.
