BC Boys Top 10 preseason rankings: 2024-25 to tip off with Spectrum, MEI, Collingwood, Unity topping the charts!

LANGLEY — Top 10 time is back.

The B.C. School Sports provincial pre-season high school Top 10 rankings for senior boys basketball have just been released, and as expected, its two largest tiers reflect the respective geographical strengths of two of the province’s time-honoured regions.

At Quad-A, three of the top four spots are held by Vancouver Island schools.

From Saanich hail the No. 1-ranked, defending B.C. champion Spectrum Thunder.

Sitting at No. 2, having moved up from Triple-A where last season, it won that tier’s B.C. title, are Nanaimo’s Dover Bay Dolphins.

And at No. 4 are the Island mainstays, the Oak Bay Bays of Victoria.

Fraser North powers, the Burnaby South Rebels, have been installed at No. 3, while the top five is rounded out by the top dogs of Vancouver Sea-to-Sky, the Vancouver College Fighting Irish.

At Triple-A, the Eastern Valley has three of the top five schools, including the No. 1 MEI Eagles of Abbotsford, No. 4 Brookswood Bobcats of Langley and the No. 5 Rick Hansen Hurricanes, also of Abbotsford.

Defending B.C. champion Collingwood Cavaliers of West Vancouver sit atop the Double-A poll, while defending small-school champs, the Unity Christian Flames of Chilliwack, tip-off as No. 1 in the Single-A rankings.

  1. Interesting the 4a just re-released rankings from spring.m? Terry Fox not ranked and Fleetwood not ranked. Burnaby South lost their best player to prep, so did Centennial. I suspect there will be much movement between 2- 8 this year
