LANGLEY — With two weeks to go until the start of the B.C. senior boys basketball championships at the Langley Events Centre, all four provincial Top 10’s experienced barely a ripple on its collective lakefront.
The lone exception, last week’s Quad-A poll saw Surrey’s Grandview Heights Grizzlies ranked at No. 3. On Tuesday, following a 77-73 loss to unranked Earl Marriott in the South Fraser quarterfinals, the Grizzlies were dropped all the way to ninth.
All eight teams of South Fraser’s quarterfinalists at the tier, which began play Thursday, are still alive in the battle to procure one of its four berths to the B.C. championships.
This week fully half of the Quad-A Top 10 is from South Fraser including spots 7-10, its overall strength of schedule keeping all of its underdogs in a space where upsets are possible.
