02.05.25 edition: B.C. Boys Top 10 ranks see Spectrum and Wellington notch huge tourney title victories!

LANGLEY — Last week’s No. 1 teams in the two largest tiers of B.C. senior boys basketball suffered invitational tournament championship game losses, yet another indication that we’re in store for four unpredicatable days of fun when the provincial tournament tips off in exactly one month’s time at the Langley Events Centre.

In Quad-A’s three-team musical chairs, defending champion and former No. 3 Spectrum is back on top following the Thiunder’s last Thursday’s 92-73 homcourt league win over former No. 1 Oak Bay Bays.

In Triple-A, Nanaimo’s Wellington Wildcats just intensified the Vancouver Island dominance which has been the defining theme of the season, ignoring the No. 9 ranking it carried into the Rick Hansen Invitational and beating the then-No. 4 and host Hurricanes 82-75 before topping No. 1 St. Patrick’s 98-97 in the title game.

For its heroics, the Wildcats jumped seven spots to No. 2.

(Apologies for last week’s errors in the Single-A rankings)

Here’s a complete look at all four tiers:
