LANGLEY — What’s happening this week at Varsity Letters?
You’d have thought things would have slowed down, yet constant activity within the window before Spring Break is pulling your founder in different directions at the same time.
So much so that I am posting this update to all of our loyal readers who are asking for certain stories.
I am in the process of writing the Boys 2A championship lede from Saturday’s Collingwood-Notre Dame game, and I am hoping it lands by day’s end.
Historical-themed post-game interviews for the Vancouver College-Dover Bay game, however, have taken on a life of their own, and to give a game which is among a handful of the most historic I have written about in over 40 years its due, I will be needing a little more time here, so it may yet be a few days. I will post updates on X and Facebook as the week progresses.
And making things a little more complicated is the fact that invitations are just about set be sent out for the Tsumura Basketball Invitational next December.
So I am straining to get these invites out before spring break begins so that we may get as close to finalizing our combined girls and boys pools which total 64 teams.
I published an article on the eve of the boys tournament last week and it may have gotten lost in the shuffle as the cascade of daily stories took up the prime positioning on our cover page and it covers every aspect of the 2026 TBI, including our move to different dates this weekend.
Coaches are asked to please read the following: https://varsityletters.ca/tbi-2026-new-dates-this-december-for-boys-and-girls-super-16-and-select-16-pools-plus-other-news-as-we-turn-15-this-year/
Thanks so much for all you patience
Gotta dive back in at the keyboard.

You are the best Howard! Each story is a gem and the only bad part is waiting for your next one. Thank you for your wonderful care, thoughts and special way in which you present them!
Well…the curse of 1967 is finally over! Vancouver College has won another B.C. Boys 4A Basketball Championship! Winning both the B.C. Varsity Football Championship AND the B.C. Boys 4A Basketball Championship in the same year is very rare. Congratulations to the players, coaches, support team, parents and school.
