09.18.17: Varsity Letters’ Top 10 B.C. High School Football Performances of the Week

Welcome back to Varsity Letters’ Top 10 performances of the week in B.C. high school football. 

There were so many eye-popping numbers this weekend that we’ve added honourable mentions.

1. CHARLIE MCMILLAN — Went 25-of-34 for 295 yards and three touchdowns in Carson Graham’s 61-21 Buchanan Bowl win Saturday over the Handsworth Royals.

2. BEN CORBETT — West Vancouver’s quarterback went 17-of-23 for 303 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-23 win over Abby’s W.J. Mouat Hawks.

3. MICHAEL CALVERT — South Delta QB went 18-of-23 for 202 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-0 win over Mission on Saturday.

4. LIAM SCOTT — Carson Graham star caught a 55-yard TD pass, returned a kick-off 90 yards for a major and threw a TD pass in the Eagles’ 61-21 win over Handsworth.

5. VON RICHARDSON — Rushed for 214 yards and two touchdowns to lead GW Graham to a 35-12 win over the Argyle Pipers on Friday.

6. KEELAN WHITE — In a 61-21 loss to Carson Graham, the Handsworth standout caught seven passes for 196 yards and two TDs, scored another major on a 75-yard interception return and made three tackles.

7. ZACH JACKSON — Hugh Boyd star carried seven times for 203 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-14 win over Robert Bateman. 

8. TYLER ECKERT — St. Thomas More’s RB rushed eight times for 107 yards and two touchdowns, also made three tackles including a sack in a 38-0 win Friday over Abbotsford.

9. JERRELL CUMMINGS — Notre Dame offensive star scored touchdowns via an 80-yard catch, a 70-yard punt return and a 10-yard run in a 33-0 win over Holy Cross.

10. KALEN JULES — The Belmont quarterback went 15-of-23 for 231 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-21 win Friday at Ballenas.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

RYAN BAKER — Windsor Dukes’ standout registered 12 tackles while also rushing for one TD and going 4-of-5 in the passing department for 72 yards as the Dukes dumped Pitt Meadows 52-7 on Friday.

NIC ZEN — Collected 146 yards in receptions and scored three touchdowns in the process in leading West Vancouver to a 34-23 win over W.J. Mouat.

WILL CLARKE — Notre Dame quarterback threw touchdown passes of 80, 45 and 40 yards in the Jugglers 33-0 win over Holy Cross on Friday.

JELLO JUACATO — On 16 carries, the Seaquam Seahawks back scored four touchdowns in the Seahawks 61-28 win Saturday over Centennial.

BRADLEY HLADIK — Vernon receiver made four catches for 135 yards, scoring one TD, but also collecting four tackles and an interception in a 28-24 loss Thursday to Cochrane (Alta.).

BROCK MCCARTNEY — Robert Bateman RB carried 20 times for 107 yards and made four catches for 67 yards, scoring two TDs on the day in a 33-14 loss to Hugh Boyd.
